Attachment Description field not editable in section grid



A repeating grid layout of a section contains a custom button for adding attachments. Users click the button to add attachments using the attachment pop-up window. Users should be able to edit the Description (text) field of the attached items in the section grid, but they cannot do this.

This problem occurs only with Internet Explorer 11. The problem does not occur with Chrome Version 51.0.2704.103 m.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Click the Add New button.
  2. Upload the attachment.
  3. Click the grid to edit the Description.

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment
A known defect in Internet Explorer 11


Try the following suggested approaches.

Approach 1: Run Internet Explorer 11 in No Add-ons mode.
  1. Press the Windows key + R.
  2. Type iexplore -extoff.
  3. Press Enter.
​If this approach does not resolve the problem, try the next approach.

Approach 2: Change or reset the Internet Explorer 11 settings.
  1. Close all Internet Explorer windows.
  2. Click the Tools button and then click Internet options.
  3. Click the Advanced tab and then click the Reset button.
  4. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
  5. When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, click Close and then click OK.
  6. Restart your computer to apply the changes.
If this approach does not resolve the problem, try the next approach.

Approach 3: Re-install Internet Explorer 11.
Uninstall Internet Explorer 11 and re-install it..

If this approach does not resolve the problem, contact Microsoft Support.
