Attachments name is restricted to 64 characters

The description text (Subject field) of a file attachment is limited to 64 characters. This occurs even when the corresponding database column (pyMemo), in the PC_Link_Attachment table, can accommodate 96 characters.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

Attach a file to a case with a file name greater than 60 characters. The file name is truncated to 60 characters (64 characters totally, with a typical 3 character file extension with the period '.').

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.
Truncation of the file name occurs in the pyUploadFile activity in the Data-WorkAttach-File. The AttachFile activity also has a hardcoded check of length.

Apply HFix-44690.
