Blank screen displays on closing a new bulk warranty case

SA-78761

Summary

User must select one or more cases from the list of individual warranty registration cases and initiate a bulk process by clicking a button provided on the UI (User Interface). This results in the creation of a bulk warranty registration case. When the user closes the new bulk warranty case, a blank screen displays instead of the list of individual warranty registration cases. If the user selects an existing bulk warranty registration case from the list and closes the case, the list of individual warranty registration cases display correctly.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Select a case from the list provided and click the button to initiate a bulk process
  2. Click the Close button on the new case that was created

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules. The new case was created on the same thread. When the work object was closed, the thread was also closed. Hence, the warranty registration case list data that was previously on the thread was also removed.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:
Create the case in a new thread.

The New Document option in the Launch harness can be used to create a new tab thread. However, the Create Work option also creates a new tab thread.
