Browser hangs while navigating the Connector and Metadata wizard

SA-65435

Summary

Connector and Metadata wizard is used to generate data mapping rules for Java Bean Metadata type. The imported Jar has a large number of metadata (over 5000 classes and properties). The wizard provides options to skip renaming of classes and properties.
On clicking the Skip option, the browser hangs. Hence, unable to generate the mapping rules and the browser session must be terminated. However, this works when the imported Jar has few classes and properties.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Import the Jar with a large number of metadata.
  2. Run the Connector and Metadata wizard.
  3. Select the option to generate data mapping rules for Java Bean Metadata type.
  4. Rerun the wizard. An option displays to rename duplicate properties and classes, overwrite them, or skip the renaming of the metadata. The metadata count to be skipped, renamed, or overwritten is greater than 5000. On selecting either of the options (that is, skip, rename or overwrite), the browser session hangs and user is unable to generate the data mapping rules.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.

Resolution

Apply HFix-45469.

Note: This hotfix does not work in the Internet Explorer browser due to legacy coding and browser incompatibility issues.
