Business Intelligence Exchange weekly scheduled job fails



Business Intelligence Exchange (BIX) weekly scheduled job fails post upgrading to Pega 8.2.2.

Error Messages

ERROR - unable to authenticate session for: SCHEDULINGAPPDATAEXTRACTOR

Steps to Reproduce

Run the command line script file manually from the server.

Root Cause

Business Intelligence Exchange (BIX) still uses Pega 7 versions post upgrading. However, prlogging.xml is still in use and the explicit temp directory points to the Web node temp directory.


Perform the following local-change: 
  1. Update the application stack to use the latest Pega-BIX:08-02 version in the Designer Studio
  2. Copy the updated JAR files from Pega 8.2.2 distribution to lib directory of Business Intelligence Exchange (BIX)
  3. Replace prlogging.xml to use prlog4j2.xml
  4. Update prlog4j2.xml to use the server specific paths to log files
  5. Update prconfig.xml to include “<env name="asyncExecutor/enable" value="false" /> “ which resolves the stream service issues in PegaBIX.log
  6. Comment on the explicit temp directory in the prconfig.xml file
