A button controlled by when rule does not show to developer
SA-18982
Summary
When a section is included in a cell in another section, visibility rules are run. This means that, if you have a visibility rule that currently evaluates as false in a section, and that section is included in a cell in another section, the the parent section doesn't show part of the child section.
Error Messages
Not applicable.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create section 'A.'
- Set an element in section A to a visibility rule that evaluates to false at design time (for example, "1=0").
- Create section 'B.'
- Include section A in a cell in section B.
Root Cause
This is working as designed. When a section is included in a cell (rather than as its own layout) some sections have a visibility rule which resolves to false.
Resolution
An enhancement request has been created for consideration by Pega Product Management to change this behavior so visibility rules are not resolved when a section is included in a cell.
