Summary



Campaigns fail at communication stage, with ORA-00904 error, after creating a new version and modifying stored fields of segments.

ORA - 00904 , A11 invalid identifier


Steps to Reproduce



Scenario-1:
  1. Create two segments with additional stored fields.
  2. Create a tree using these two segments.
  3. Create a recurring campaign using the above two tree nodes.
  4. SFO and SFI tables are created with additional stored fields.
  5. First cycle completed successfully.
  6. Suspend the campaign.
  7. Add new stored fields to one segment and execute the tree.
  8. Create new version of campaign and scheduled it.
  9. Campaign fails with ORA-00904 error at communication stage.
Scenario-2:
  1. Create two segments with additional stored fields.
  2. Create a recurring campaign using the above two segments.
  3. SFO and SFI tables are created with additional stored fields.
  4. First cycle completed successfully.
  5. Suspend this campaign.
  6. Add new stored fields to one segment and execute.
  7. Create a new version of campaign and schedule it.
  8. Campaign fails at communication stage with ORA-00904 error.  


Root Cause



The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules.

Resolution



HFix-926 has been provided to overcome this issue.
