Cannot download logs using SMA (https) Not signed by certificate

Summary



Multiple problems in System Management Application (SMA) when trying to access the log files via the hyperlinks.

In Chrome browser:
"The webpage at https://xxxxxxxx/prweb/DiagnosticData?LogType-SERVICE-PAL&Format=text might be down or moved permanently to a new web address"

If you copy the same URL in new window in the browser, it correctly prompts the credentials.

In Internet Explorer:
"Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate. For more information, see “About Certificate Errors” in Internet Explorer Help."

If user perform right-click the ‘text’ link to open in another window it also displays an error about missing certificates.

If user clicks ‘Continue’ then, user gets a security credentials window, user does not know which credentials to use.

Error Messages


In Chrome browser:

"The webpage at https://xxxxxxxx/prweb/DiagnosticData?LogType-SERVICE-PAL&Format=text might be down or moved permanently to a new web address"

In Internet Explorer:
"Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate. For more information, see “About Certificate Errors” in Internet Explorer Help."

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Login as Administrator.
  2. Navigate to SMA:System>Tools>Logs>Log Files>Log Files >PEGA path and click ‘text’ hyperlink on one of the files. Errors appear.


Root Cause



A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.

A port change is required if the user's subnet is whitelisted to “9080” port.

If the port is not whitelisted then the user will see the error browser error.

Resolution


Perform the following local-change:

The on-site team needed to change port 8443 to 9080 in SMA.

User was given the correct SMA credentials.
