Cannot edit decision table in Excel beyond 256 columns

Summary



Unable to edit a decision table in Excel that has more then 256 columns. This is a limitation in Excel 2003 that does not allow editing beyond column number 256. However, this issue is also observed in the later versions of Excel.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a decision table with more then 256 columns.
  2. Attempt to edit in Excel.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules which incorrectly enforces the limit based on Excel 2003.

Resolution

This issue is scheduled to be resolved in Pega 7.2.
