Can't select autocomplete value with mouse and IAC

Summary



An AutoComplete that is populated by a report definition is not working properly with IAC mashup. When the list of results is displayed and a user tries to pick a value using the mouse, the list disappears and no value is selected (the property does not have any value). In either case, the value can be selected in the auto complete via the keyboard.

Error Messages



No error display, AutoComplete control gets blank out.


Steps to Reproduce



-Type something on the AutoComplete control and wait for the suggested list
-Try to pick a value from the suggested list by clicking the option.


Root Cause



The top level application was was using IE standards mode. PRPC 6.3SP1 requires quirks mode for all functionality, including AutoComplete, to work properly.

Resolution

The top level web application has to specify and X-UA-Compatible setting of IE 8 in order for PRPC 6.3SP1 with Hfix-8246 to run properly in quirks mode.
