Changes made to access roles are not propagated

SA-71110

Summary

On moving an access group as a data instance to Pega 7.4, changes made to it are not updated.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Make changes to an access role, add certain privileges.
  2. Add that role as part of an access group.
  3. Move the access group as a data instance from Pega 7.2.2 to Pega 7.4. The access role changes are not updated in Pega 7.4.

Root Cause

This behavior is as per Pega product design.

Resolution

Here's the explanation for the reported behavior:

The access group instance contains a reference to the access role names. It does not contain the access role name instances. If the access role object instances are modified, then the access role object instances must be included in the Product rule.
