Configuration setting keyword indexes not generating on import

SA-538

Summary

While importing instances of a custom ruletype, Administrators see that Declare Indexes associated with those instances do not fire.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

This behavior is seen while importing a Rule-Admin-Product file that contains instances of a custom ruletype.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a defect in custom application code/rules
This behavior is due to the omission of the "Start-Validate" and "End-Validate" methods in the custom ruletype's validate activity.

Resolution

This behavior is resolved by including the "Start-Validate" and End-Validate" methods in the custom ruletype's validate activity.  This must be done in both the source environment, where the instances of the custom ruletype are created and exported, and the target environment, where the instances are imported.

Any instances that were created in the source system before the validate activity was updated, will need to be re-saved or they will still experience the issue when moved to another environment.

If any instances were moved into the target environment before the validate activity was updated, running the "Revalidate for References" wizard, after updating the validate activity in the target environment, will trigger the Declare Indexes and create the associated index instances.
