Connect HTTP XML response converts to Base64 format

XML Response received from the Connect HTTP Service converts to the Base64 format automatically.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a data page, Connect REST, XML parse and XML stream
  2. Execute Connect REST. The XML parse fails as the response string is encoded to Base64

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. When the content type is not present in the Response headers from a service, the content is assumed as binary and is encoded to Base64 before it is mapped to the Clipboard. This causes XML parsing of the content to fail if the content is text.

This issue was reported as a bug to be remediated in Pega 8.2.5 patch release.
