Corrupted values in report output that uses UDFs

SA-24898

Summary

Some values are corrupted when report definitions that retrieve content from the BLOB are run through the User Defined Functions (UDFs). Special characters or unreadable characters appear. This does not occur with all output records. The properties appear fine when the objects with corrupted data are viewed using Clipboard viewer. The issue appears only on the report definition output.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

Run a report definition that retrieves content from the BLOB.

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment:
he Oracle UDFs were corrupt and did not work properly. This may occur if the UDFs are backed up and restored (and there are errors during restoration), or if the UDFs are replicated from one environment to another.

Resolution

Make the following change to the operating environment:
1. Drop completely and reload Pega UDFs in the environment.
2. Refer to the Support Article given below to drop and reload the UDFs.
    https://pdn.pega.com/support-articles/how-install-user-defined-functions-udfs
3. Utilize a database user with Deployment User privileges as defined in the installation manual.
