Could not find a rule when appending a stream error in logs

SA-36899

Summary

The below error appear in the PegaRULES log.

Error Messages

ERROR- Could not find a rule when appending a stream
com.pega.pegarules.pub.generator.RuleNotFoundException: Failed to find instance Data-Portal.KMArticlesByStageWidget of type Rule-HTML-Section

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in as CFFCaseManager.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.

The issue is related to DB preferences that is updated for CFFDeveloper after installing CS (CRM) build.

The default DB is set for CFFDeveloper after installing CS build (this is same as the default DB preference for KMAuthor, KMApprover or KMPublisher operators).
On verifying the product rule, noticed we set the Dashboard preference to DEFAULT (instead of setting it for an access group, operator or WG). Any operators that do not have a default dashboard preference set, are picking this up.

Resolution

Apply HFix-33755.

For a work around, user can personalize the dashboard and publish to default to override this default preference.
