Create PDF Utility does not render RTE in PDF

SA-103837

Summary

The user edits work in the Rich Text Editor (RTE). Post the edit, an email with a PDF containing RTE content does not generate. That is, the Create PDF utility does not render the RTE in the PDF.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In a Correspondence include the RTE to capture content.
  2. Use the HTMLToPDF activity to generate a PDF. The PDF is created; however, the RTE content is not captured.

Root Cause

Characters did not display in the generated PDF since the custom tag associated with it was used. By default, PDF generation in the Pega application removes the custom tags. Since the custom tag was removed from the Markup, the characters did not display in the PDF.
Chinese fonts were not fetched as the font-family was specified explicitly in client's use case.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

For custom tags, pass the pyHTMLDisableProcessing parameter to 'true' in the HTMLToPDF activity.

For Chinese fonts, override the font-family with !important check.
