Critical-Fix : Section rule rendering issue using Restore points

SA-34656

Summary

In Pega 7.2.2 the ability was added to rollback an import by using Restore points (also called snapshots) of the older instances.

For a small percentage of section rules when a rule is persisted to the snapshot their blank properties were stripped for performance reasons. As a result, on the restore from snapshot, the user interface which is expecting these blank properties, will not render correctly. There is no easy fix once you have restored from snapshot other than to recreate the Section rule. It is also not easy to identify Section rules with these specific blank properties (estimated 10% of section rules have it).

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

Restore from Restore point and find that some of your sections no longer render correctly.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.

Resolution

HFix-32364 has been identified as a critical hot fix for 7.2.2. All systems running Pega 7.2.2 should install this hot fix.

Apply HFix-32364.
