Customer class name reverts to OOTB reference after upgrade

SA-62485

Summary

The Customer Class Name reverts to the out-of-the-box reference PegaComm-Data-Customer-NBAMCCustomer instead of maintaining the reference to <Custom_CustomerClass>. This occurs when running post validation steps while verifying the Manage Data Relationships page.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

Upgrade to Pega Marketing 7.31.

Root Cause

According to the Pega Marketing Implementation document, while creating a customer class, PegaMKT-Data-Customer must be the Parent or the Directed class. That is, the customer class must be directly inherited from the default customer class (PegaMKT-Data-Customer) for the application to automatically identify the custom class as a customer class. In this scenario, there were multiple levels of inheritance.

Resolution

Here's the explanation for the reported behavior:

Multi-level data associations cannot be auto-generated. The CustomerData dataflow must be updated manually.
