Customization of Pega Pulse

SA-6209

Summary

You need to customize Pega Pulse in your project by adding a new filter condition to help an application user show the posts of other application users. Using the PDN references cited below, you modified the DataTransform to add another filter condition and also another activity to handle the filter. However, you want your application user to be able to select a particular application user. This requires additional user interface modifications to show the list of application users for the user group.

Resolution

All the related filter rules have the prefix py_; therefore, the filter section can be overriden. To show additional user interface for selecting application users for the selected filter option, complete the following steps:

  1. Add one more option to the filter in the data transform.
  2. Modify pyShowFilterMenu and conditionalize the menu item with an action to show the Operators list user interface if the filter option is the one added in Step 1. Otherwise use an existing item for the action.
  3. Design an existing action of Refresh section with the activity get messages wrapper for the Operator selection UI control after the Operator is selected.
  4. Inside the activity, use the selected Operator and write your logic to fetch the data.
