DateTime control is updated with current date on section refresh

Summary

DateTime control is updated with the current date on section refresh when an incorrect date format is entered.


Error Messages

Not Applicable.


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a section rule
  2. Add a DateTime control and one dropdown control
  3. Configure the DateTime control to accept user text
  4. Configure OnChange event-action to refresh current section on drop down configuration
  5. Run the section and enter an invalid date format. For example, 09/2423424/2019 or 887878/09/2019
  6. Select a new value for dropdown after which section refresh is triggers and the DateTime value is updated with the current date
     

Root Cause



Inconsistent processing of incorrect date by native JavaScript.


Resolution



Perform one of the below local-changes to restrict user to enter invalid dates:
  • Change Allow text entry to No 
  • Change Display mode to Text Input or Drop Down Lists
