Decimal separator comma (in German) is converted to a dot in IE

Decimal separator ',' (comma) converts to '.' (dot) in German localization.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set the language as German (Germany) [de-DE]. In the Internet Explorer browser, navigate to Internet Setting > General > Language.
  2. Create a text Input field (Number) in a section.
  3. Run the case. In the Internet Explorer browser, the German Decimal separator ',' (comma) changes to a '.' (dot).

Root Cause



This is a browser limitation for Internet Explorer browser. Chrome and other browsers do not allow commas for type=Number. However, Internet Explorer browser allows commas.


Resolution



Perform the following local-change:

Change the editable format in the Presentation tab of property configuration to Text instead of Number.
