Delay in dropping marker pin in Google Maps

In AddressMap control, when searching for a location, there is a delay when dropping a marker pin in Google Maps. These pins are based on multiple addresses retrieved from a report.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Use the AddressMap control.
  2. Search for addresses. The address is marked on the Map.

Root Cause

When there are more than 1000 addresses to be mapped or pinned with the address Map, then 1000 network calls are made to map all the addresses.

While the call is in progress and the user performs a search, then some records must be mapped to the address Map along with the previous search results.

Hence, it could be a third party issue. That is, multiple records are not mapped frequently when changed. Alternatively, it may be a user error. That is, the user must wait till the first set of addresses are pinned or mapped, to make a new request.

  • Restrict user while making a search, when there are network calls in progress.
  • The number of records (to be mapped ) must be few when performing a valid search.
  • Additionally, restrict the user to search using parameters (by providing input) or process at the Report level to regulate the result count.
