Deployment Error for Pega 7.3.1 EAR on WebLogic

Summary



Error occurs when deploying a EAR file for WebLogic and Oracle database platforms.


Error Messages



SEVERE: Unable to obtain DataSource for java:comp/env/jdbc/PegaRULES; javax.naming.LinkException: [Root exception is javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'jdbc.PegaRULES'. Resolved 'jdbc'; remaining name 'PegaRULES']; Link Remaining Name: 'jdbc/PegaRULES'

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Deploy the ruleset in to Oracle Database 12c.
  2. After completeing the application server configuration, deploy the EAR file.


Root Cause



A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.
Multiple nodes (not the cluster environment) existed in the same WebLogic for different applications. Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) name was configured at the Admininistrator server. The issue occurred because it did not have clustering environment privilege.



Resolution



Perform the following local-change:

Configure JNDI at the node level.
