Summary

When there is only one record in the system to match filter criteria, dashboard shows correct data or bar, but when user click on the bar to see the details on drill down screen, system does not show any data on detail or drilled down screen. Drilling down using the link in the report data for the same grouping works correctly.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create summary view report with interactive bar chart.
2. Drill down on bar representing a single result.

Root Cause

A third-party product issue:

This is a problem with the way the bars are generated for the chart by the chart package. When the scale of the bars causes a bar to become very short (single pixel?) the bar is no longer properly selectable, causing the wrong filter values to be used in the drill down query.

Resolution

Recommendation is to switch to a different type of chart, for example clustered bar; which is not affected by the issue.
