Summary

Users are using RTE to compose email. When reply email is composed, the part of email mixing together and data in the mail is splitting over the email body. The email data is seen over two columns.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open an existing email and copy it's body in an RTE.
  2. The email body is checked in RTE, by showing the pyInboundEmail.pyBody in RTE.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. The email body is checked in RTE, by showing the pyInboundEmail.pyBody in RTE.

If the email has below content in <td> tags ., then pega replaces it by another <td> </td> and users see 2 columns instead of one.

<td>

<META name=Generator content="Microsoft Word 11 (filtered medium)">
<o:SmartTagType name="Street" namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagType><o:SmartTagType name="address" namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagType><o:SmartTagType name="place" namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagType><o:SmartTagType name="PersonName" namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"></o:SmartTagType>

<P></P></TD>
RTE removing meta tags and adding new td tags. This issue exists with CKEditor version that Pega is using. Issue is fixed in latest version of CKEditor. To fix this in current release, CKEditor code has to be updated and this requires regression of RTE functionality. Hence considering it as an enhancement.

Resolution

An enhancement request, FDBK-16514, has been created for consideration by Pega Product Management.
