Enabling SmartInfo in Report disables Click event on row

SA-99533

Summary

Enabling Enable smart info on the Report Viewer tab disables the Click event on row to open work object on the report definition.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a report definition (For example, pzGetSkills)
  2. Run the report
  3. Verify if all the row items are clickable
  4. Enable Enable smart info on the Report Viewer tab
  5. Run the report. All the row items are in the read-only mode

Root Cause

This behavior is as per the Pega product design.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior: When the Enable smart info option is not selected, the report definition is rendered on the autogenerated grid. The autogenerated grid does not contain the option to open smart tip on click of row. Hence, when the Enable smart info option is selected, the report definition is rendered using the non autogenerated table layout. The non autogenerated table does not have click handler on grid row because of which the required behavior is not supported.
