Error 400 : when trying to load status_good.gif file

Summary



User is receiving an error when trying to load status_good.gif file directly by referencing it from the URL in web browser.
 

Error Messages


 

"Error 400: Unable to extract access group from URL for static content request. See logs for details".


Steps to Reproduce



Enter this URL into a web browser:

http://your_host:your_port/prweb/diagnostic/status_good.gif


Root Cause



A backwards compatibility change in Pegasystems’ code or rules.
​This is not a bug.

 

Resolution



Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

In Pega 7.x the HTTP request processor is extended to include the prweb.
 

This is consistent with J2EE compliance and prevents direct access to static content on the server.
