Error icon does not display on selecting DeferLoadContent

SA-91865

Summary

A section is configured with a Tab group containing multiple tabs. If any tab has a Validation error, an error mark displays on the particular tab by default. However, as part of a new requirement, the Defer Load Content and Pre-load activity checkboxes are selected to introduce an activity on one of the tabs. Though a Validation error occurs on the tab, the error symbol does not display on the tab by default.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In a section configure a tabbed layout.
  2. In the General tab of a tab in the Tab layout, select the 'Defer load contents' checkbox.

Root Cause

This behavior is as per Pega product design.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:
  • Tab pills (labels on the tab) display the error icon only when there is an error from the content on the tab.
  • When Defer load is used, content is not loaded (the Markup is not in the Document Object Model (DOM)) until the user clicked the tab. If there is no content, the error icon does not display by default on load.
