Error messages not displayed at field level

You try to validate a page list to prevent any duplicate entries. The page list is presented in a grid format within a tabbed layout section. The error message displays on the top and bottom of the section as a separate error section instead of showing the error at field level.

Error Messages

Depends on validation rule.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Validate a page list to find duplicate entries using in-built function CheckDuplicatesInPageList
  2. Present the page list in a grid format but in a tabbed layout section with the mode of the field set to "Read-only".
  3. Create a scenario where the repeat grid will show duplicate values for the field that is being validated.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is: the developer trying to validate a property which is in "Read-Only" mode.

Changing the mode of the field from "Read-Only" to "Edit" should fix this problem.
