Error in saving Email Treatment with functions in Subject field

SA-38181

Summary

Configuring a Email Treatment with function in the Subject field results in "This record has 1 Error in 1 place Subject— Invalid value specified for Subject. Value doesn't adhere to the Validate: BalancedQuotationMarks" error.

Error Messages

This record has 1 Error in 1 place Subject— Invalid value specified for Subject. Value doesn't adhere to the Validate: BalancedQuotationMarks

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create an Email Treatment rule.
  2. In the Subject field include a function (for example - "Hi "[email protected]String.substring(.SampleProperty,2,3))
  3. Save the rule.

Root Cause

This issue was determined to be a product enhancement request.
The Subject field only supports plain text, quoted text and property references. The expression builder is provided to assist in building concatenated strings and property references. This way the user can see the entire subject, rather than being confined to the smaller input box for subject.

Resolution

An enhancement request, FDBK-19566, has been created for consideration by Pega Product Management.
