Error in UDFs generation and installation

Summary



An error is observed when generating the UDFs using the below command-line:

generateudf.bat --action install --dbType db2zos



Error Messages


[java] Error generating ddl for db2zos: XPathFactory#newInstance() failed to create an XPathFactory for the default object model: http://java.sun.com/jaxp/xpath/dom with the
XPathFactoryConfigurationException: javax.xml.xpath.XPathFactoryConfigurationException: java.util.ServiceConfigurationError: javax.xml.xpathXPathFactory:

Steps to Reproduce



Run the generateudf.bat program as described above.


Root Cause



A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment: The script was finding Java 8 in the environment, which is not supported for Pega 7.1.6.

Resolution



Make the following change to the operating environment: Change to Java 7.
