Error updating Registry Key of AllowLaunchOfElevatedTrustApps



MS Word Compatibility for 2016 Office 365 works on a standalone installation after installation of HFix-30766. During the mass distribution of the silverlight plugin msi, the following error is thrown:
"Error in updating the Registry Key of (AllowLaunchOfElevatedTrustApps): Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules. Newly added registry keys inclusion feature on Silverlight prerequisites are not supported for installation on multiple systems. The Silverlight prerequisites MSI file needs to be re-built without the inclusion of registry keys.


Apply HFix-34899 to resolve the issue.
