Error when connecting using Pega Client for Windows

Summary

Error occurs when connecting to the Pega application using the Pega Client for Windows 8.3.

Error Messages

"Client Store synchronization failed.  See logs...)"

java.lang.NullPointerException: null 
    at com.pega.pegarules.session.internal.mgmt.autostreams.packaging.DataTransformPackager.canProcess(DataTransformPackager.java:126) ~[prprivate.jar:?]

Steps to Reproduce

Log in to the Pega server using Pega Client for Windows.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.
The 
Pega Client for Windows default network timeout was triggered due to Enabled caching in the offline-enabled access group. When the pyDataTransformWhitelistForOffline application rule contained an entry for the data transform that did not exist, Null Pointer Exception occurred.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change: 

  1. Uncheck the Enable caching checkbox on offline-enabled access group
  2. Remove any data transform rules from the Whitelist which do not exist in the system.
