Error when a DataFlow is referenced as an input to a Merge shape

Summary



Error occurs when a DataFlow is referenced as an input to a Merge shape in a different DataFlow.


Error Messages



Secondary source has no selectable keys


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a DataFlow, for example DataFlow A, with data set as source
  2. Create another DataFlow, for example DataFlow B, with DataFlow A as a source
  3. Create a thrid DataFlow, for example Dataflow C, with a merge shape and set DataFlow B as one of the inputs
  4. Save DataFlow C. Error occurs


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. The data flow design time validation does not identify the ultimate source shape of the data flow and hence, does not allow the use of merge with a nested data flow as secondary source.


Resolution

Apply HFix-45394.
