Euro currency € symbol displays as ? in generated PDF

Summary



When using the HTMLtoPDF activity to generate a PDF, the Euro currency '€' symbol displays as '?' in the PDF.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a paragraph rule with either of the below HTML codes.
    -    € 
    -    €
  2. Run some activity to generate the PDF by invoking the HTMLtoPDF activity.
  3. Open the PDF.


Root Cause



An issue in the custom application code or rules. The required font files did not exist in the fonts directory.


Resolution



Perform the following local-change:
  1. Add the required font files in a directory.
  2. Pass the directory path to pyPDFFontsDirectory property.
