Excel sheet shows HTML tags



When user clicks on export to excel button, the excel sheet content shows html tags for 'Template content' column.

User configured two links for 'Export to Excel' functionality:

1. First Link (Export to Excel Original) > Actions > Report Definition. In this case in Template content column, HTML tags are displayed.
2. Second (Export to Excel New) > Actions > List View. In this case no Template content is displayed.

Reportedly, it is a business requirement at Client end to configure two links. Cannot avoid RD for the first link as they need to display Template content but the HTML tags getting displayed which is causing the issue.

Steps to Reproduce

On grid header configure a link with action set as On click event > Report Definition action.

Root Cause

A software use or operation error.

​In the clipboard observed that the values are present with html tags and as is displayed in Report Viewer, which was not the case with ListView. On further analysis, observed that the format was missing for control with RD.


As a local change, for that column in Report Definition, add the column format (present in gear icon)
