Exception occurs when trying to bulk process items

An exception occurs when an activity is run to commit a bulk number of cases to the database.

Error Messages

ERROR - Error in commit() Exception while attempting to start global transaction: code: <none> SQLState: No Global Transaction exists to rollback. Message: <none>

Steps to Reproduce

Run an activity that attempts to commit a bulk number of cases to the database.

Root Cause

The activity is trying to process too much data in one transaction or commit. A review of the SystemOut logs showed there was a timeout error prior to the exception and the alert logs show a number of alerts for that requestor.

The issue can be resolved by modifying the activity to commit the transactions in shorter intervals so there will be less data to process with each commit.
