Export to excel functionality is not working properly

Summary



The user is trying to export report data into Excel. After clicking the 'Export to excel' button, user is getting option in the taskbar to open the Excel report, but after clicking Open, Excel opens up with no data.
User's workstation has Excel 2010 installed.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Run any ListView report
  2. Click the "Export to Excel" button.
  3. Click the "Open" button.

Root Cause



The issue was introduced by Microsoft security update for Excel 2010, released on July 12, 2016 (KB3115322). This update causes Excel 2010 to silently block the loading of untrusted HTML files.

Resolution



Update KB3115476 for Microsoft Excel 2010, which was released on August 9, 2016, addresses the issue.
