Filter state not saved on 'Personalize table' grid section

SA-83785

Summary

According to the 'Personalize table' feature, a user can save the filter states, sort, and set the column preferences.

This feature works for filtering and column settings, however, the user is unable to save the filter states.

The tooltip documents that save the filter states must work correctly; however, the filter on the grid, sourced by a data page, loses the filter state after they are set on the columns in the grid.

For example, the filter is set to EX-1 and EX-2 as in the below image. Upon screen refresh this is lost.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a section with a table grid that references a list sourced by a data page.
  2. Populate the list.
  3. Filter one of the columns.

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

When the 'Save Personalization automatically' checkbox is selected, the filtering state is not saved. This a feature as per design.

Uncheck the 'Save Personalization automatically' to save the filter state after Personalization.

The tooltip is on Allow (checkbox). This is correct because the filter state is saved for Personalization and not for Automatic Save.
