Font weights change upon access through HTTPS



Fonts have different CSS after changing to SSL (HTTPS) URL from default HTTP URL. The issue is replicable in Internet Explorer 11 browser and cache clearing does not help.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Upgrade the HTTP protocol to HTTPS.
  2. Access the URL, and open the application.

Root Cause

In Fiddler, HTTPS Fiddler log was reviewed. Many HTTP requests went to Tunnel to host, which is HTTP. All those requests were treated as HTTP request. Internet Explorer browser blocks CSS, JavaScript, and image file requests if raised as HTTP request in HTTPS environment. Many image files and JavaScript files in Fiddler were redirecte to Tunnel to host. Also, if links to JavaScript, CSS, and image files were relative, then it would take the request setting of an application, HTTP or HTTPS. Pega used relative path everywhere.

This is a network-configuration issue. Check and change the Internet Explorer configuration.
