Steps to Reproduce

1.    Navigate to Designer Studio > Application > Tools > Document
2.    Configure the screen as: Select an Application > Select a template (Application Document) > Full Application Documentation > Rule Names
3.    Leave the rest configured by default
4.    Click Document Now
5.    The popup opens and then displays a link

Root Cause

We are using one external open source JAR (docx4j-pega-3.2.2.jar) for generating documents. A document generated with the version of the DOCX4J library included in Pega 7.1.9 contains tag values which are not accepted by Microsoft Word 2010.

Resolution

  • Apply HFix-25445
  • Using Microsoft Word 2013 also resolves the issue
  • This issue is scheduled to be resolved in Pega 7.2
