Get Next work not working in FCM



Though there are items in FCM-Worklist, “Get Next Work” is not working in Federated Case Management (FCM) portal.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create work objects.
2. Expose work and assignments.
3. Login FCM portal.
4. Open any one assignment.
5. Click getnext work.

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

Get Next Work will retrieve Assignments based on certain criteria like urgency and so .

Assignments with top criteria are retrieved first. When an assignment is opened, system mark that this is viewed by the user and lock that for some time, that is, lockouttime; so that other Assignments with urgency are picked up subsequently.

The assignment will be locked for a particular time mentioned in the lockoutmintues one’s this timeout happens again this assignment would be available in queue for processing. This is how GetNextWork is designed to work.

If this mechanism is not in place then always an assignment with top criteria will be retrieved irrespective any other conditions.

To overcome this issue timeout period must be set so that all assignments will be picked without any issue.
