Grid control does not preserve filter or sort on change of data

Summary
When the data underlying a grid is amended outside the grid itself - there is no way of updating the grid state externally while at the same time preserving any sort and filter options the user has selected.
User What procedure can be used to refresh the grid and preserve the sort and filters applied - or reapply them such that the same effect is achieved?
Resolution
Informed user that this feature is not present for grid. If you want to refresh the section which contains grid, you will lose all the existing filter and sort .
