Header and columns misalign in Firefox

The user configured the grid header in layout1 and the rows of the grid in layout 2 which is in a repeating layout. The alignment displays correctly and Internet Explorer but not in Firefox. The user cannot edit the field width.

Error Messages

Not applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Place grid header in a layout.
  2. Place rows of the grid in a section and include this section in the section of step 1 inside another layout.
  3. Observe the row can be expanded.
  4. Header and columns miss alignment.

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules:
  1. If you have a grid header and rows to it, then PRPC will make sure that they align.
  2. But, if you have grid header in one layout and the rows inside another layout, PRPC does not make sure that the content is aligned.
  3. Also there will be miss-alignment if you include section as a cell in the row.
  4. This might work in IE but this is not expected from Firefox because it is not designed to work in that way.

The below local-change can be implemented to make it work:
  1. To make the header and the rows aligned, you can make use of the header row and mark it as Header.
  2. To expand the rows, you can make use of the Grid Expand Pane option.
