IE11 in native mode does not execute gadgets correctly

SA-9818

Summary

After upgrading the application from PRPC 5.4 to PRPC 6.3 SP1, and upgrading to Internet Explorer 11, users observe that without compatibility mode turned on, gadgets do not render or function correctly.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

Use Internet Explorer (IE) 11 in the default Standards mode, otherwise known as native mode.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is defect/misconfiguration in the operating environment. PRPC 5 and 6 applications require compatibility mode.

Resolution

All PRPC applications pre-Pega 7 (versions 6.x and earlier) require compatability mode to render and function properly. This is explained in detail by the PDN document "Support for Internet Explorer 11" (https://pdn.pega.com/documents/support-for-internet-explorer-11).
