IE11 UI issues when changing columns' widths in Decision Tables

SA-12439

Summary

When working with IE11 in compatibility mode you are unable to correctly change the size of columns in the Table tab of a Decision Table rule. When clicking on column separator, the new line separator starts at the bottom left. This behavior is not present when the decision table is modified when launching it in a separate window (through the "Launch" button).

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

Open a Decision Table rule and click on the column border.

Root Cause

This is due to a basic incompatibility between Developer Portal and IE11 browser.  IE11 is not listed as a supported browser for developers (https://pdn.pega.com/documents/platform-support-guide-for-prpc-5x-and-6x, page 12).  Also, there is the following statement in the PDF that describes support for IE11  on versions of PRPC prior to Pega 7 (https://pdn.pega.com/documents/support-for-internet-explorer-11):

"The PRPC Developer Portal is not supported with IE11 – even with emulation enabled. A customer, who chooses to use IE11 with emulation for the End-User Portal, must retain IE8 or IE9 for the use of the Developer Portal."

Resolution

Internet Explorer 11 is not a supported browser for developers on PRPC 6.3 SP1.
