Incorrect error message is displayed on Decimal controls

Summary



An incorrect error message is displayed on Decimal controls. When an alphanumeric value is entered into a decimal field, the system shows "Value cannot be blank" message instead of "Invalid value".

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a Decimal type property.
  2. In a section use Integer control to use that property.
  3. Mark it as required.
  4. At runtime use alphanumeric values and tab out.

Root Cause



The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules.

Resolution



This issue is resolved through the following local-change:
Use a text control to use the Decimal type property.
