Incorrect Validation while creating Local Storage in Data Type

SA-64508

Summary

In a split schema and dual user setup, while creating a local storage in Data Type on changing the database to PegaDATA, a validation error displays on screen. This occurs even when a data source is present in the database mapping.

Error Messages

Please select a valid database

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a data type.
  2. In Records section, select Local data storage as the source and select Configure Source.
  3. In the Database field, select PegaDATA.
  4. Click Submit.

Root Cause

This behavior is as per Pega product design.

A non-Pega formatted table is created in a user-selected database during local data storage setup. This occurs until CustomerData schema is created in Designer studio. When the CustomerData schema is ready, a non-Pega formatted table is created in the user-selected database except PegaDATA. A validation error displays when PegaDATA is selected.

Resolution

As a local-change, select CustomerData schema when available to create a local source for the data type.
