Inline images in emails are shown as attachments



When users send an email message with inline images in Pega Customer Service 7.22, the images are attached separately in the email in the Gmail client. However, in Outlook, the email with inline images displays correctly.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a rich text correspondence with inline images.
  2. Use the SendSimpleEmail activity to send this correspondence to a Gmail address.
  3. Open Gmail.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules
The Java step in the SendEmailNotification activity to prepare HTML and images for a zipped Word document causes the issue.


Apply HFix-45288 for Pega Customer Service 7.22.
