InvalidValueException when searching with invalid value

SA-53532

Summary

InvalidValueException occurs when performing a search with an invalid value entered in the DateTime field.

Error Messages

Activity Status Exception

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Include a DateTime property in a section and select the 'display value using read only formatting' option.
  2. At runtime, enter an invalid text in the DateTime property and click submit. An activity status exception displays and InvalidValueException occurs.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules

When the 'display value using read-only formatting' is checked, the application converts the text entered to the read-only format specified. Since, the text entered is not a valid value, parsing does not happen and an exception occurs.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:
  1. Navigate to the section in which the property is referenced.
  2. In the Presentation tab of the DateTime property, uncheck the 'display value using read-only formatting'.
